Pros

It's a very patient company. It gives juniors plenty of time and opportunities to learn and develop their skills. Because it has clients from many industries, it always has new opportunities.

Cons

It has a hybrid system, so you have to go to the office twice a week. This is somewhat limiting for those who want to live elsewhere. As it's a Portuguese company, salaries are lower than those you can receive in other countries.

It’s great to hear you value the time and support we offer for learning and development, especially for those starting their careers. Continuous development is essential for supporting our people’s professional growth. We understand that our hybrid model, which includes regular office presence, can shape how people experience flexibility and their location choices. Our approach aims to balance the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-person interactions, as we believe in a culture of collaboration, which has shaped the company we are today. Regarding compensation, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts on compensation. It’s something we continue to reflect on, regularly reviewing our structures to improve and stay competitive in the market. Thank you again for your dedication and contributions to our company. We are always open to dialogue, should you wish to speak with us.

Pros

Great environment, projects that make a difference to the world (no call centre crappy software being developed here): trains, planes, aerospace, space, banking, smart meters, etc.. Parts of Exomars SW were made here. Same for Solar Orbiter and 20+ space missions. This is about changing the world, for the better, while staying in Portugal (or UK, or Germany, or anywhere that suits you - remote is the new norm). Human resources are valued. Several process improvement initiatives are NOT related to the core technical standards and/or technologies but to People and sustainability (Investors in People, B-Corps). One of the few CMMI-L5 companies in the world (~1000), which rates the capability maturity level of the organization.

Cons

Got to know what is involved in working for safety-critical projects and domains. Not a company developing pretty much simple web software. Coding is only one of the many tasks to be performed before release. If you don't care about quality (doing things right, processes and doing the right thing and your business is the salary at the end of the month), go somewhere else.
