Pros

-They will pay for your certifications. -Very good about reimbursing expenses.

Cons

-There is no training besides some 3rd party, incredibly generalized modules. -My sole resource to reach out to (supervisor) didn't have time to get back to me most of the time. When I reached out to the rest of my team for assistance I was later told by my supervisor that that wasn't allowed. I reached out to HR and expressed that I didn't have the appropriate resources to reach out to during training and HR agreed. No changes followed. -You will be paid for 40 hrs salary but expect to have between 50-60 hrs of work. They exclusively hire new grads because those new to the work force don't know any better. -This is a work from home position. During the interview they will tell you it's possible to work from anywhere but this is false. They want you to work from your home network. -I was under the impression that my supervisor attempted to maintain a valuable position at the company by being the sole source of information for most things. He was incredibly intelligent but preferred to be the SME of everything as opposed to delegating work to the team he oversaw. From my experience, it was difficult for his team to take on more responsibility with him in charge.

Critical Design Associates Response

As an employer it always makes me sad when someone fails in our recruiting and training processes. When we hire a candidate, we start with the best intentions of success for the candidate, our team, and the customers we serve. Sometimes candidates "fresh out of college" have vastly different expectations on what a career in information technology (IT) or cybersecurity entails. I would attribute this to their over exposure to academics who set their expectations with little to no experience. Whoever wrote this negative review, we wish you the best of luck in your career. Some advice I would offer to other candidates, seeking a career, and not a job, may want to search the Internet for this phrase: "What is the typical number of hours a person in IT operations works in a week". The results may help you recognize the reality of IT industry trends. IT is not an easy career, but it can be lucrative if you have the passion, aptitude and attitude.

Pros

The team at CDA gives employees the opportunity to continuously improve their professional career through paying for certifications, showcases, and allowing employees to continue to challenge themselves through increased responsibility in their role. Certifications are rewarded with either a bonus or salary increase so if an employee wants to make more money they can gain a certification. Everybody at the company is reachable so if there are any issues an employee can reach out to anybody who might be able to help

Cons

Very fast paced during on-boarding and training when compared to a college class and can be overwhelming at times Expectations can be ambiguous at times but clarification can be given by reaching out to appropriate supervisor

Whether demonstrated through training or progress on one of the many projects, the team will always acknowledge and reward hard work and effort, setting CDA apart from many other companies. - This is truly a great company that has proven to me it cares about it's employees, their well-being, and treating them fairly. Working here has been a fantastic and invaluable start to my career in technology.

Cons

- Company is fast paced and growing, so keeping up may be a little overwhelming and challenging at times, but this is made easier with the teams help
