Pros

Teaching materials are provided, but that can sometimes make teachers overly reliant on them or irresponsible in preparing their own classes.

Cons

There’s a pretty big gap in workload between Korean and English teachers, which feels a bit unbalanced (Way more tasks for Korean teachers + parents' complaints). Work on Holidays! I guess it depends on the branch, but this Gwangju branch doesn't pay you the proper holiday rate.

Pros

If you have a good manager at your branch, your time there will be great. I appreciated the efforts from the good managers I had, as they tried their best to help all of the teachers out/make things easier. The cons I have listed could not apply if your manager is good.

Cons

If you have a bad manager, your time there could be absolutely terrible. - Smaller branches make it very hard to take a day off if you're sick - Not many vacation days/breaks - Summer and winter camps are very overwhelming and exhausting (you're working around 10-11 hours a day).

Pros

It comes with a lot of benefits like flight reimbursement, housing, a pension refund, and one month's pay at the end of your contract. Great for new teachers. You only need a degree and a background check.

Cons

Your experience really varies by location. Managers don't always follow the law or the company guidelines when it comes to pay, so you have to stay on top of things. Usually, HR can handle many pay disputes between you and the manager. Hours and work go well into the night. Not much time off, although there are a total of 11 vacation days, you may not always have a choice of when to use them.
