Pros

Mostly good company atmosphere. They have a very good health plan. Often provides free lunch to everyone in the company in the form of cookouts in the summer and pizza occasionally throughout the year. Token bonus system where each full time employee is given a set of 'tokens' with an attached money value to give to their fellow employees each month.

Cons

They don't value anyone in development unless they have been around for a number of years or are good buddies with the management. Pay is poor at best. Starting salary is 30k with a 2 year degree, 40k with a 4 year degree. They pretend this is competitive because they think that their benefits are extremely good when, really, they're barely on par with the average in the field. No sick or personal days and a low amount of vacation days (5 days for the first year, 10 for the second, then about 1 more per year after that). When sick they tell you to just remote in and work from home or make up the time during the rest of the week. If you can't do either of those you have to burn a vacation day. Best you can hope for with a raise is 4% per year with no room for negotiation, normally this would be decent but the base pay is so low that the raise is mediocre at best. Have been told numerous times by the more experienced people here how poorly the entire development department is run. Very little opportunity for advancement because even though the company is growing, they refuse to increase the size of the management staff. Refuses to implement Software Dev 1, 2, 3 structure so that the only way to advance is to wait for one of the people above you to quit then jump on it and hope they pick you.

Pros

Management truly cares about each employee and wants everyone to enjoy working here. The company has grown in the last year and the future looks promising as well. There is not a lack of work here and everyone is always eager to help. Fantastic benefits, competitive pay and a great bonus system. They try to make work fun very often. So far in my time here, they have tried to work on any complaints, recently acquiring more office space for the growing company.

Cons

Not much of a training/on-boarding process, they hired a training coordinator to work on this though. There is no work from home option although it is definitely feasible, more vacation time could be added or sick/personal days. Because of the recent growth, sometimes more guidance is needed than available.
