Pros

Free education, smart coworkers, and an avid student base. It seems like a dream and will likely feel like it for a period of time. Prime office locations in both SF and Seattle with decent benefits. The production team is the only department that seems to have any fun. And free lunch several days a week!

Cons

Product isn't user friendly and steps to make it more so have been slow to put it kindly. Our audience is constantly confused by our product - and has been for years. Why on earth aren't we a monthly subscription company? Why isn't there an app? Outside of the product itself, it only gets worse the longer you stay. It's been said by many other reviewers here, but the main problem most people have at CreativeLive has is with management and the lack of direction overall. No one is creating strategy or a clear vision, but everyone is placing blame. This is where a strong CEO would be helpful - to give a unified direction. Chase is smart and creative, but he simply isn't a good fit for the company and our audience. Overall, it has the feeling of a sinking ship around here lately. Unless drastic changes are made, I don't see how this company will ever be profitable or sustainable.

Pros

CreativeLive really does a great job at empowering their employees to be successful. I love that they give me the tools to do my job, and give me full trust in my ability to execute and deliver. I also really love that I get to conceive and initiate new creative problem-solving projects on my own, and they tell me to just run with it. The challenges that we face are truly opportunities, and I am excited to see where we go. It's really a great company, and besides the (somewhat standard) growing-pains associated with a young company of this size, I feel like a valued member of an engaging and passionate team. Very cool fun, creative, and lively place to work.

Cons

As is often the case with startups, there is sometimes a sense that we are somewhat struggling to figure out our direction and plan. There is often a disconnect between departments, meaning that when one group is developing a new project, they don't consult with other teams that are inherent stakeholders (until the project is way down the line). There needs to be more avenues for facilitating collaboration and forward-thinking on certain major projects.
