Pros

Stop sitting and staying inside your office cubicle. Yes, this job enables you get to travel around Singapore. You get to adapt to different school environments as well! Fresh graduates can train on their ability on class-discipline and public speaking confidence. This is a stepping stone, for those who are of stage-fright. Networking between trainers is also available since most of them come from different discipline, ranging from fine arts to animation. Exchanging different work methods become possible. The return gratifications from the students can be great, if the class is obedient and engaging. However this can be hard at times. Advice is to do this job when you are in your schooling period, where travelling expenses are still affordable. Do this for a couple of months/years if you're really interested in the instructor or teaching role.

Cons

Travelling expenses aren't really covered unless the lessons starts early in the day, or the interval between locations are tight. If not, you have to fork out your own travelling expenses. The company goes by seasonal projects, and in-line with the school schedules. Therefore, you can have times when schools are having their holidays, and you get no projects at all. This can be bad for part-timers who solely depends on this. Trainers are hired too impromptu. You can have fresh graduates who doesn't have any teaching experience but with artistic background to be teaching. It can be a hard time for them, without any prior knowledge in class handling. The job requires you to handle classes of at least 30 students. With so much in hand with class discipline, the IPO results might drop due to too stringent guidelines that limits the students creativity. Some MOE teachers are at times too over demanding and dependent on the trainers. There are times when the expectations of results to be comparable to their industry standards that young adults are producing, when the environment you are teaching are students of aged 7 to 15. To inculcate creativity in students requires time for them to foster. Which can be difficult in this country where art are chosen as their less-grandiose line of career than academic results. Your career ladder in the company is limited. Even though with lots of part-time trainers, the full-time trainers are constrained. There is no in-between between the trainers and your superior. So you can be stuck in the same position for years. Since most of the sales and HR management are done by the boss. It can be good thing since you get direct instructions from them, but in the long run it is not sustainable for your career journey.
