Pros

Remote work, flexible schedule, and the people (not including leadership) are great.

Cons

Oh boy, where do I begin? Well, leadership is a joke. The CEO is a slimy, smooth-talker who has no clue how to run a company. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself working for CreateApe here's what you have to look forward to: Each day, you'll have multiple projects to toggle between. All of which have ridiculous deadlines and expectations. You'll regularly be pulled off and put back on projects at different points in the timeline. Let's just say that project management is non-existent. You'll be underpaid. By like, a lot. If you're based in the US you'll be classified as an independent contractor so you get no benefits and have to pay your own taxes. Yay! Job security? What even is that? There are regular layoffs and "furloughs" because the CEO doesn't know how to handle finances. Oh, and you thought you were the expert in UX design? No, you aren't. The *client* is. And you will accommodate their every wish. Even if it makes absolutely zero sense from a UX perspective and results in an unusable product. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. I'm pretty sure they'll be out of business in a couple of years anyway.

Pros

The people, outside of leadership. But they're all gone.

Cons

The leadership. The only reason this company has not already folded is because of the people who do the day to day work. The leadership team regularly expects you to do the work of multiple people while they themselves work half days at most. The compensation. While you are doing multiple jobs (because they refuse to hire enough people and they burn out the people they do have) you'll be underpaid by quite a bit. There are no benefits to speak of. The work-life balance. Even if you are stationed half a world away, you will still be expected to work Los Angeles hours. The structure. There isn't any. Everything is held together with duct tape. Virtually every client ends up breaking up with the agency because of the sheer chaos that they bring to the table. Overall, unless you are desperate, this is not an agency you want to work for. You will develop bad habits as a designer while working long hours in a poor work environment for little pay. It's not worth it.
