Pros

For what little they allowed me to do I got paid well. The ability to work from wherever (within reason) was also great. Decent benefits. The office in Portland is absolutely gorgeous unfortunately no one ever goes in so you don't get the full benefits.

Cons

They spent so much money, time and energy hiring VP's and above they forgot to hire people to actually do the work. A big reason the company is in a downward spiral. The department in charge of looking after the people instead who focused their time on creating damaging silos and hiring her own people the internal trust of the HR team imploded. They are people in HR with little to no experience. At Covetrus just knowing the right words to use will take you far, you don't need to show action because you can blame someone else for that. Covetrus simply doesn't care about it's employees. They're focused on growing enough revenue for their investors to sell. I brought more experience to the HR team but they never allowed me to use my skill set or experience so month after month I would sit and update spreadsheets or create job descriptions. I'm truly astounded I wasn't laid off years before I was actually laid off. The real kicker to show this company doesn't care about employees (and more specifically me) they went out of their way to deny my unemployment benefits to which I'm sure they are sitting back laughing out loud while collecting massive paychecks.

Pros

Company is in the Veterinary field. A place where pet parents love to spoil and take care of their pets and animals. Product breadth is great for a company to be in for there are many opportunities to expound upon.

Cons

- Continuous canned internal question surveys catering to only what management wants heard. - Revolving door for employees, a holder myself of four degrees, cut earlier this year ... have much to offer but they continue to pay to teach new employees to learn many processes with overlapping software tools over and over again. Many of the overlapping software tools have many glitches. - Customer service confusion on what platform to use. - X-functional pricing between prescription management and distribution management where pricing is misaligned. Pricing is misaligned where one platform is less than the other being on the same porogram or just go to Costco? - Continuous management movement and restructuring .... i.e myself I had 8 different managers in 2 years... dust never settles to allow a program / process to work properly to test the waters prior to changing it. - Top heavy management structure of hired people that don't understand the veterinary management process / procedures they put in place to align properly to what the veterinary practices or customers want and with antequated software tools trying to align with best practice software tools of competion, i.e. CHEWY, Costco, Amazon and WalMart
