Pros

The only pro was a select few of the people were great people that could make the day bearable. Maybe an additional pro is that you’re basically left alone because management is too busy chit chatting on phone calls/coming in late/leaving early.

Cons

They expect you to work 9 hours every day on top of every weekend or every other - plus management will switch your schedule on you however they feet fit and get angry with you if they meet any resistance. They do not pay you for any additional day they choose to close. We we’re given the day after Thanksgiving off which was a Friday - receiving an email wishing us all a happy healthy long vacation of fun, just to find out next paycheck we we’re not paid for that day and not made aware of it. So it was a mandated unpaid day with no recourse or warning. Any snow day that the store is closed no one is paid. Management claims to have opportunities for advancement but all that means is they give you more work, ask for more of your input, and use you as the scapegoat when something you’ve worked on with management goes wrong. There is little to no resolution when issues arise either between staff and management or customers with management/staff - management plays he said she said rather than addressing issues or taking accountability with mistakes. Management doesn’t offer solutions for customers, refuses to accommodate customers with returns/credits even if the mistake is on the staff/management - they try to bury the mistake and keep any resolution paid for by the customer. Management makes it hard to get your job done or effectively by not returning answers to calls/emails/questions, regarding personal work related matters or job related matters. Very disgusting environment, women are treated unprofessionally by the manager, HR is awful at informing anyone of required CT Laws, or overall updates, in addition HR sides with management and bullies staff about hours, pay, conflicts until staff eventually just quits. Pay is horrible and non negotiable. If they can make you work for commission only they will. If you try to negotiate you’ll simply be ignored or ostracized.
