Pros
guaranteed place to collect a paycheck
PTO is slightly above average
lots of nice intelligent employees who are welcoming and fun
room to move around (horizontally) if unhappy with current role or manager
full 8-hour pay PLUS time and a half when asked to work holidays
floor supervisors are very kind, intelligent, and approachable
wellness credits if you are healthy make insurance premiums very low (for me, $25ish/pay period)
dental and vision insurance are cheap and have not really been increasing at all over past several years
Cons
Cynicism, gas-lighting, micromanagement, and fear mongering
The conversations are often bigoted and discriminatory and just petty, and negative finger-pointing at people in other departments.
In the office, there is an environment of favoritism, backstabbing, and all over uncertainty of job security.
Management does not know or seem to care who the valuable employees are.
A large proportion of office workers are exhausted by the hypocrisy and disconnect between what we're told are the company values, and what we actually see and hear day-in and day-out.
