Pros

Good salary and the flexibility to work from anywhere. Within Cornwall Insight the Modelling team is a nice collaborative enclave in which to work.

Cons

The wider business is completely devoid of a company culture or any commitment to integrate a remote worker (as I was) within the wider team. Announcements of both my hiring and redundancy, which went out to all employees, elicited no response whatsoever from "colleagues" outside my immediate team (and for bonus points my name was misspelled in the redundancy announcement). The company laid on weekly online yoga sessions which no-one attended (and have since been cancelled). The group "strategy", apparently entirely beholden to private equity owner Bowmark Capital, is aimed solely at squeezing every last penny from the business, with no strategic vision or particular interest in the energy industry - note the widespread surprise and confusion among employees and clients following the closure of Cornwall Insight Australia which, despite serving one of the most interesting and dynamic energy markets in the world, apparently is not worth the company's money (of which there is apparently very little). Stacked up against any other boutique energy consultancy Cornwall Insight simply does not cut it. Avoid.
