Pros
I work as a contractor for a tech company in California which is out of state from CRPO's main office(in Virginia) so there is a hands-off agency approach here. Unless you really need something from HR/management, you wont be bugged so you can concentrate on your assignment. Not necessarily a pro but you will get to know and understand your assignment's team/company more than CRPO's.
Cons
I did used to have a direct contact in California but CRPO had to downsize due to the pandemic so that resource is no longer available. No more California contact means I have to wait longer for a response if I have an issue that is after hours in Virginia. Benefits are mediocre but that is unfortunately expected. Not exactly a con for CRPO specifically because the assignment company has more say in the compensation but the wage stays the same throughout the assignment's duration--there is no room to negotiate a raise, at least for the tech company I am providing work for.
