Pros

This company has a lot of potential- its a thriving start-up and growing quickly. Most of the employees are hardworking and personable. There is opportunity to own your business and take charge of your client accounts. There is some in-office flexibility, but there are no set "rules" so it is difficult to know where management stands on employees taking advantage of WFH options.

Cons

This small company is just as silo-based in structure as a huge conglomerate. It’s difficult to get a straight answer from any one person on any topic, be it related to a client, operational, HR, or recruiting resources because communication between management is poor. Opportunities for advancement are presented as up to the initiative of each employee- in practice most suggestions for change or initiatives are either not responded to, not given approval, or allocated to the same 2-3 individuals over and over. There should be more collaboration and willingness to flex and develop, if individual employee growth is predicated on contributing to company culture- that company culture should not be so rigid. The result is that though the response to employees wanting additional responsibilities is to take initiative, unspoken norms and a lack of communication among management stack the odds against any project taking off. Opportunities for salaried and full-time positions are scarce, despite company growth. Again, employees are not encouraged to discuss this and management is not transparent.
