Pros
Downtown location is great if you live close by or don’t mind commuting through the traffic Most are asked to do more than their job description states which can be helpful to add skills to your resume Parking spot downtown Benefits are comparable to other similar companies
Cons
High turnover due to burning out employees - they do require you to work more than 40 hours and this was not mentioned in the interview process Very much good old boys culture, top of executives all have each other’s backs and will throw people under the bus to cover themselves Some departments just do not have the technical infrastructure to run at the level required for a publicly traded corporation - many processes are outdated and change is not welcome so this can be frustrating - issues are blamed on employees, usually new ones Management reviews are not useful and should be taken with a grain of salt You will be told that you can go to management about anything, but this is untrue, everything goes in one ear and out the other unless it can be used against you later There is definitely a “smile to your face, then stab you in the back” feel to the work environment, leading to distrust between fellow employees
