Pros

I enjoy working with my peers. There is much less "corporate politics" here than many companies I've worked for and when there are problems the discussions focus on how to fix and move on vs. where to assign blame. The work is challenging and the management team meets often throughout the year on how to make our employees more valuable through training, new experiences, etc. The pay is competitive and performance is rewarded. The executive team is one of the best I've worked for with high longevity in positions as well as strong ethics and a roll up the sleeves mentality. This is an organizational culture of everyone working toward our common goals.

Cons

Working in the Correctional Industry can be challenging and there are lots of outside regulations we must be aware of. That adds to the challenge and keeps the day to day from being boring though. Since retention rates are really high, especially at the supervisor/manager levels and above, you sometimes need to be creative on ways to get promoted, but the company is constantly looking for high performers and ways to retain and promote them.

Pros

CC Uses cutting-edge Technologies, which is good experience for resume building; many of the Teams are collaborative; interesting work and you can believe in company goals.

Cons

Director and Manager level mgmt at corporate here do not provide guidance on projects. There is a lot of turnover on data projects because new employees are thrown into the deep end and then just blamed if results are not as expected. CC really needs more hands-on project oversight. There are also behavioral and anger issues with a couple long-time ppl as well, and this is both exhausting and (sometimes) outright humiliating. They need to treat new people better.
