Colleagues are almost universally incredibly nice and generous people. Great work/life balance with very 9-5 hours generally—and any work beyond that in a day goes toward extra vacation time. Pretty phenomenal in the legal field. Not allowed to work on government holidays and encouraged strongly not to work or even check email when on vacation time.
Cons
Most junior-level attorneys are extremely underutilized. Lots of micromanagement from higher-ups but little substantive supervisory involvement throughout early project stages. This results in redoing a lot of work unnecessarily after significant time has been put in (like months of work). Some supervisors are not open to hearing different legal opinions, which can make junior attorneys feel disengaged. There is also a culture of sharing information only within the supervisor circle and not with all attorneys.
