Pros
I love working for startup companies. There is always a challenge, and you are one of the many people who will help shape the direction of a growing company. That makes working for startups incredibly fun. A few months back, I used to work for a startup company that had a disastrous management team, and it was just a terrible company. I'm talking about being micromanaged by every single member of the leadership team, and they were the ones who were clueless. They almost took away my love for working at startups. Then I stumbled on this startup company called CopyCat Media. What a breath of fresh air it is when a startup values its employees, the management team is competent, you're not micromanaged, and they are super organized. I work in sales, and I had never before worked for a company that trains their sales team on the technical details of products that they are offering their customers. We had to learn about the products before we were given access, and we were trained on the use of ZohoCRM, the phone system, dashboards, and all the other tools we use to work with customers. We continue to have training. One day, I will be an SEO expert if they keep this up. Everything isn't perfect here; the company has it's share of problems too, as it shapes and grows, but the leadership team listens, communicates with us, and keeps us well informed. For a startup company, you wouldn't think it was one, as it is a well-oiled machine. I was surprised to find out that this company has no rounds of funding, no seed, and no A, B, or C series funding. To summarize the pros - Everyone is awesome and fun to work with - The CEO is like the rest of the team, and you'll see him working until 10 p.m. in the office - Competent and clear direction of management team - Kick-butt training program - You are required to spend your off time with your family and friends, not working
Cons
Not a funded startup, so not a lot of perks Pay isn't the best
