Pros

The people there are generally friendly. There are reasonable opportunities for progression should the company want to keep you, there is a lovely big lake behind the Wootton Head Office too.

Cons

The company is very old fashioned in its operation. It started up as a scrappy in California in the 80s, and still suffers from that mentality. It is very rigid in its structure, you feel that you are only entitled to ask your immediate superiors for advice, rather than anyone above them. I worked there for a considerable time, I never met the MD, CEO and other directors only notice your existence once they want something. Pay is very uncompetitive. Similar roles at other large companies are probably paid 10-15% more. The head office is a very remote location, with limited parking. The nearest shop is a 5 minute drive away, the nearest town, Bedford, is maybe a 15 minute drive. Overall, Copart are a very dishonest company in the way they treat their customers. Fees are intentionally hidden from members and are raised without clear warning.

Pros

Work from home. Things are constantly changing. Positions open up but manager has to approve you and put your name out there.

Cons

My manager was very unhelpful when my position as a team lead was eliminated. I've been here 5 years plus before COVID and I'm back to square one. I feel there should have been a back up plan for us. They want you now to do the work that a lead does but for absolutely no more money.
