Pros

Working with some employees with Integrity.

Cons

1. It's funny to read some of the reviews here because I apparently worked with them before. He's definitely aware of the situation leadership brought us, Founders stopped paying their employees and discontinued insurance since February. 2. It's your personal choice to stay with this company, but denying the fact, escpecially "I can tell that my management cares for my growth professionally & personally." is completely BS. I personally feel shamed to work for such a company under this Leadership and have a coworker like you.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us your thoughts. I’m glad that you found your colleagues to have a high level of integrity. That matters greatly to us as we trust them to be pro-active and manage their own schedules. I also appreciate that you are angry about the ending of your employment with us. The decision to close our US and Vietnamese operations following its recent acquisition was a difficult one taken only when it became clear that the investment we had agreed to support the software development of the platform was ultimately not forthcoming. Being forced to lose respected and talented members of the team was always going to be painful for a small, close-knit and friendly company like ours, so as I hope you know by now, there was no alternative for a self-funded start-up like ours which has no choice but to live within its means. As a self-funded startup, while it did take longer than we’d have liked to pay the downsized staff their outstanding salaries and benefits, honouring our commitments has led to us keeping in close contact with many of our former development team, and we hope to work with a number of them again later this year. Although the vast majority of the team were very supportive as we worked through these challenges, others were a little less forgiving which of course is their prerogative. As I believe you’ve now come to realise - through us honouring our commitments, we do genuinely care about our team.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your comments. I am pleased you have enjoyed working alongside warm and welcoming colleagues. We are justifiably proud of the team here at Convosphere. At the same time, I’m sorry that you were unclear about the strategic direction of the company. Like many small business owners, we constantly have to make calls about our business priorities as there are usually too many ideas and too little time to do them all. It is fair to say that the development of our technology platform took up much of our time and energy and then it was put on hold when the agreed investment failed to materialise. This was a frustration to all of the team. We are now firmly focused on our insights services business and feel that we and the team have a very clear understanding of where we are heading. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Pros

:: International and cooperative team. I really like our community and how everyone is ready to help if anyone needs it. :: Room for an opinion and horizontal structure. At Convosphere, I have found a management team that is always open to hearing my opinions and thoughts. :: Remote work-friendly and flexibility. Founders trust in the team, giving us the flexibility to manage our time and schedule. Also, having the opportunity to work remotely make it easier to balance work and life. :: Growing opportunities and a competitive salary. Our roles evolve with the company feeling as the company is growing you are also growing with it, both learning new capabilities and methodologies, but also gaining responsibility. :: Fun team to work with. We all master the usage of GIFs and emojis and the occasional global kick-off help to get to know better each other better. This is important as we do not work side by side in the same office every day.

Cons

:: Managing different time zones and our own scheduled can be challenging sometimes. :: Internal communication isn’t as fluid as it should be sometimes.

Thanks for leaving your detailed feedback. I am so pleased that you value the opportunity you have been given to develop your career, gaining responsibility and improving your salary. As a small start-up, we want to hire people for the long-term and bring them on the journey with us - any company that is growing as quickly as ours provides a great opportunity for people to grow their career and remuneration. I agree with you that managing internal communication is one of the biggest challenges we face with our disparate global team. We host a team-wide call on a Monday to ensure everyone keeps abreast of what’s going on as well as regular strategy updates. We try to get the whole team together in person once a year, although as we get bigger that is getting more challenging. I am always open to hearing your opinions, as you say, so if you have any suggestions on how to do more here then please do let me know.
