Pros

Able to learn all aspects of running the store, since it's a lower volume, smaller management team it's important to be trained on all areas. Flexible scheduling during weekdays-asking for a specific open or closing shift, or needing a specific weekday off Learn a lot of transferable skills that can help you find a job outside of a retail/sales environment.

Cons

Only getting one weekend off a month (if the manager wants to give that to you-often would try to only give you one Saturday and one Sunday on different weekends. Or would say they "forgot" to give you a weekend off, so you don't get one that month. Never getting a holiday off, only day the retail locations are closed is Christmas Day. The pay for managers is great, which makes it hard to want to leave retail.
