Pros

The staff is amazing. They are very warm, personable, and will bend over backwards to help anyone. If you didn't take on any extra responsibilities, it used to be a great place to work. The students are great and they love the staff.

Cons

The owner no longer cares about the company, spends little time there, doesn't understand the business, and expects his small and underpaid staff to do everything. He also expects employees to work off the clock. You will be putting in full-time hours (sometimes more), and have no benefits. The low hourly pay is significantly lower when outside hours are factored in. The entire staff is completely unhappy and resentful. When someone tries to go to bat for them, the employees are then cornered and put on the spot Both employees and students are nickel and dimed. Even though you are off the clock, finding time to eat is a rarity. Lastly, the owner even posted a fake review from one current employee. Reading the "review" it is obvious that he didn't understand the purpose of the site. The review read more like, "what can I do to be a better employee?" Beyond the pale.

Pros

I am a hard worker and very reliable. I am also trilingual. I speak Spanish, Portuguese and English. I am a fast learner and take criticism very well

Cons

Occasionally I will focus on one task too long because I am a perfectionist. Also, Spanish is my native language and although I am good a English, there are still some words that I don't understand.

Pros

It has a great staff and a great boss. The staff is eager to assist new teachers. In a short time, great teachers develop trust and maintain a high level of autonomy. A great teacher knows exactly what to teach, covers the curriculum, and meets deadlines. When you do this, you are left alone to do what you know needs to be done. The staff and the owner are eager to assist when help is needed. I have been self employed for too many years; I simply have a difficult time working for other people in general. Conversa in an exception. I love coming to work every day.

Cons

The money is typical in the field of ESL. Anyone in ESL already understands this and should not be surprised. This is a small business that pays what it is able to pay, and is able to stay competitive with many other places.
