Pros

If you work a specific amount of hours before the end of the summer you receive a $200 bonus attached to your final check. You can also get a "ZAP" award, which puts you in a contest with fellow lifeguards to win a giftcard. There is always room to advance, and they will gladly take you back the next summer.

Cons

When applying do NOT take Red Cross Certification!!! They do not accept it and have their own course you have to take. It will run you around $225.00. For returning guards the price is $95 Hours are long and your are a single guard. Heat can be annoying so always pack ice packs and bring cold water. Hard to reach a supervisor in time of need. I called for help with the chemicals in the pool one morning and was told that someone would be there before the end of the day to help me. No one showed up, and I even stayed 30 minutes after close to make sure.
