• Lack of leadership, strategy and communication • Strategy and goal posts changed weekly and not based on achievements which made it difficult to hit objectives and expectations • A number of companies acquired in quick session without understanding the businesses or how to manage them • A lot of senior people (some really good poached from competitors) hired in a short period of time but without a realistic business strategy to support the overheads • Most of the good talent, new and old, now gone – with big layoffs first half of last year and others leaving of own volition shortly after
