Pros

- The employee cell phone plan. - The employees below leadership are great people.

Cons

Sadly, this company removed two important core values. Love what you do and smart choices. It makes total sense as neither of those are made a priority. The senior leadership makes emotional decisions that impact their staff. None of the decisions are data-driven. When explained the directors blame our chief engagement officer for “throwing a tantrum.” None of the directors are held accountable for their outbursts and blatant favoritism. As you can see from the many recent reviews, CCI is only responding to positive reviews as they have no intentions of following up or improving. Being owned by a financial investment firm money is the only important item, not the people. Everything is focused on maximizing profit even at the frontline expense. These profits are not put back into the business for systems that don’t crash or competitive wages. We are only left to assume they go to GTCR for more gain. It is very disappointing that the mid-level leaders have become the fall guys for the senior leadership failure. Supervisors are left to take on every burden that cannot be completed by the departments responsible for doing the job because the planning of departments and budgets is so far off from reality. At this point, it seems intentional to make sure the company doesn’t exceed the goal and the bonus is less. This leads to more profit for GTCR.

Thank you for your honest review. We’re saddened and want to apologize that you did not have a great experience working at Consumer Cellular. We strive for a positive working experience for all employees but clearly fell short on your behalf. It’s true that we made some changes to the company core values. We wanted to simplify and make them easier to remember. We felt that the current four core values (Happy employees makes happy customers. Do the right thing. Be the expert. And Grow to create value) adequately covered the previous six, including Love What You Do and Make Smart Choices. If you feel comfortable enough to reach out to talentacquisition@consumercellular.com, we’d be interested in hearing more about your experience so that we can learn and improve.

Pros

Consumer Cellular has an incredibly supportive culture where leadership, fellow trainers, and other departments work together and genuinely want people to succeed. I feel trusted to lead classes, coach new hires, and contribute beyond just delivering training. The role allows me to use my strengths in teaching, coaching, and developing others while making a meaningful impact on employees' growth and confidence. The remote work environment, work-life balance, stability, and opportunities for continuous learning make it an enjoyable place to work. Most importantly, I feel valued, supported, and empowered to do my job effectively, which has made this one of the most positive work experiences of my career.

Cons

The role requires a high level of energy and engagement each day, and advancement opportunities may be more limited depending on organizational needs. However, these challenges are relatively minor compared to the overall positive experience and support provided by the company.
