Pros

They offer to pay for school if it benefits them you by you getting that degree.

Cons

The work life balance is atrocious, the pay is not competitive starting out as well as most the other benefits while under a couple years of employment. The managers are not well versed in things and make things harder upon themselves by constantly fighting with the union. They have ignored multiple issues of things that should have led to punishments and now they are going through a face where wrongful individuals being invistigate due to the incompetnce of the people that train our new hires as well as the management from top to bottom refusing to handle situations due to our consistant "staffing issues"

Pros

Coworkers are all intelligent and overall good people to spend 12hrs a day with.

Cons

The department is perpetually understaffed. You’ll never actually work an 8hr shift, because no one is dumb enough to vote for that schedule. There’s not enough operators to fill the schedule without being forced all the time for 16hr shifts. Be prepared to be forced for OT on a regular basis even with a 12hr schedule. If your family is important, then this probably is not a good long-term plan. You’re going to miss sports, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. You live at work and home is a place you sleep. The company might advertise company holidays, but that just means you get paid a little more for being here on those days.
