Pros

They may occasionally provide lunch.

Cons

The pay is low for the various duties required on a daily basis. There’s no opportunity for growth or advancement, horrible communication, favoritism amongst certain ethnicities, and racism. There are new rules and procedures everyday without proper training. Usually no access to systems needed to perform essential duties. Different trainers, supervisors, and QA personnel give different information which leads to much confusion. It’s hard to receive assistance with difficult calls. Often times loud cursing and arguments are heard on the call center floor. The computers are old and outdated . Call center is unsanitary, dusty, and there’s no ventilation. The bathrooms are filthy, there’s inadequate parking. It’s an overall stressful and hostile environment. During the hiring process I was presented with an excellent benefit package, only to be hired and advised the benefits didn’t apply to me.

Pros

Coworkers are all intelligent and overall good people to spend 12hrs a day with.

Cons

The department is perpetually understaffed. You’ll never actually work an 8hr shift, because no one is dumb enough to vote for that schedule. There’s not enough operators to fill the schedule without being forced all the time for 16hr shifts. Be prepared to be forced for OT on a regular basis even with a 12hr schedule. If your family is important, then this probably is not a good long-term plan. You’re going to miss sports, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. You live at work and home is a place you sleep. The company might advertise company holidays, but that just means you get paid a little more for being here on those days.
