Pros

There is a fantastic culture, which is high performing but also respectful of people's opinions and grants them agency. It is really well positioned in the industry and is growing organically. The systems and technology that sits behind the proposition is really powerful and helps cut out the drudge work.

Cons

Could have a higher employer pension contribution Could be a little more diverse, although the company is intentional in trying to address this.

Pros

A significant amount of time and effort goes into ensuring the ongoing well-being of all staff. The benefits package on offer is the best I’ve come across and staff happiness always forms a key part of any new team initiatives. There is very much a “work hard, play hard” feel to life at Connor Broadley and team lunches, drinks and even a hotly contested “bake-off” competition are all regular fixtures in the diary, helping to create a dynamic, rewarding and fun environment to work in. The highest standards are always set and providing top quality client service is at the heart of what we do. Having started here several years ago with little experience, I now have the best possible industry qualifications and have been nurtured into a new more senior role with more responsibilities. The Directors are always approachable and have fully supported my personal development plans. I look forward to working with the team long into the future.

Cons

When I first joined the business training plans could have been a little more structured, but as we’ve grown as a company this has been addressed and every employee now has a formal personal development plan in place.

Pros

Junior staff are friendly, quite generous with employee entertainment

Cons

Senior management are deeply old fashioned. Senior staff are all of public school background and almost all male, while people in administrative roles are young women - there is next to no diversity. There is no progression and salaries are below average. This is a huge oversight as many of the people in more junior roles work incredibly hard and are invested in the success of the company, but the CEO refuses to act quickly or be decisive, instead preferring to employ his friends at a senior level, who have no experience in financial services and cost a huge amount. The company really doesn't deserve the great staff that it has, but I don't see that this will change unless there are significant changes at the top.
