Pros

ConnectEDU is poised for growth. It has the feeling of a startup (we have many young and ambitious employees), yet at the same time it has mature products with decent market presence. Many software companies go through growing pains before they thrive. The skills required for a young company to test the market and obtain market presence are quite different from the skills required to focus on strengths and scale the business. ConnectEDU finds itself in the middle of this transition. Innovation is occurring on both the technology and go-to-market sides of the business. Pay attention to ConnectEDU if you want to learn how a good company becomes great. An added bonus is that the educational technology industry is a very exciting place to be.

Cons

Employees are experiencing first hand how a good company becomes great but might not see the forest for the trees. There are still individuals hanging on to the way things used to be, they don't see that the real growth and excitement is yet to come. The business model is currently in transition so organization roles and responsibilities are not as clear as they could be.

Pros

The mission of the company, the customers, and the talented employees. Anyone paying attention to the press coverage for the past year will continue to see the impact ConnectEDU's solutions are having on the education sector.

Cons

The lack of understanding of how much there was to turn around in this company has had a tremendous impact on employee satisfaction. Ex employees calling anyone "despicable" should pretty much validate why they're no longer with the company. It's also incorrect to state that Senior Mgmt is never around. The CEO travels to Boston every week and I think his family would have a real issue with a comment like that considering all the sacrifices they've personally made to make this company successful. I'm not saying there aren't challenges, there definitely are, but I find people genuinely care about their colleagues and the overall success of this business. I also disagree with the comments about the lack of expertise/knowledge in the education sector - people need to do their homework before making blanket statements like that. There are key employees and some mgmt members with impressive backgrounds and relevant experience that are critical to the future of this company.
