Pros

Good pay, opportunities for travel

Cons

You might be interviewing for the CAR role and wondering, is this a good opportunity? Why are there some many negative reviews? Why is Confluents rating 3.6? Why are there negative reviews about leadership in Barcelona? When there is smoke, there is fire. They sell the CAR role as being a 'Cloud Account Executive' to make you feel more important than you are. In reality, you're a glorified SDR that gets compensated for pushing through deals that aren't helpful for the real account executives or the business. This is just to make CAR leadership look good (they're under pressure for $0 commits not consuming much, so looks like that will bite them back). You don't get any formal training or support. If you struggle, you will be criticised and expected to own every single element of your development, instead of being given a plan to work on by your manager. Managers are reactive, and have little empathy. Managers will spew toxicity about you behind your back and prevent you from getting promotion so that you can help them to continue making their number. Most the money being made by CARs and CAR leadership is from CARs attaching themselves to deals they have nothing to do with. Managers encourage CARs to attach themselves to deals they have nothing to do with to make their numbers look better. The entire thing is a joke. If you are an AE with experience please do NOT go for this weird role that doesn't make any sense. Good luck!

Pros

Great product, strong leadership, and talented people across the organization. Excellent place to learn enterprise SaaS sales and grow quickly as an SDR. Supportive team culture, good training, and a fast-paced environment with many opportunities to work with large global accounts. Strong compensation and career development opportunities for high performers.

Cons

Since the IBM acquisition, there has been uncertainty around the future structure and career path for SDRs. Communication could be more transparent regarding organizational changes, promotion opportunities, and long-term strategy for the SDR organization.
