Pros
-good for building confidence & communication skills, can look good on a cv -they're always looking for staff (high turnover) so if you just want to get your foot in the door & get real work experience it's a decent option for a few months
Cons
-management are terrible, I saw & experienced harassment from managers constantly. some managers were trying to play mindgames and pit staff against eachother & some would pull people aside to berate and yell at them. -hr won't help you with anything, only time they were actively replying to an issue was when someone was overpaid lol -severe harassment from public is common & you will not receive any support beyond your coworkers sympathising afterwards. if you're lucky a manager or other fundraiser will step in to get you out of a situation. -pay is not great -targets can be pretty unreasonable especially for a sales role without commission -high stress environment, everyone I worked with was miserable -no good benefits - fundraising position has basically no chance to move up into another role unless you know someone higher up
