The unacknowledged costs of attrition - Software Engineer Comscore Employee Review

Pros

There are still some great people who haven't been laid off or left for greener pastures yet. If you're on team made up of these people, you'll be okay. Work life balance is good if you get a reasonable manager. Line-level engineering managers are pretty consistently nice humans who care about their direct reports (though a ton of them just left the company, so who knows).

Cons

The annual layoff is a real thing. Leadership is always changing direction. Middle to upper management and executive leadership don't value employees or have any interest in retaining talent and institutional knowledge. Compensation, while not the worst, could be better. There's a bitter rivalry between the legacy Comscore and legacy Rentrak portions of the organization. Company is rife with poor performers and incompetent employees. I would even go as far as to say there's a culture that breeds or encourages these characteristics. A combination of engineers/leads/managers leaving and poor/missing documentation results in a difficult situation for onboarding any new employees.
