Pros

One of the few places to work in the San Luis Obispo County, lower level workers tend to be supportive of each other, patients are remarkable and inspiring individuals, company offers workers a chance for entering the local College's nursing program

Cons

The company lost over 30 employees who reported being mistreated as the reason why understaffed patient ratios, lack of essential supplies for patient care, letting experienced staff members to hire new people at a lower rate, false anonymous hotline, callers to the anonymous hotline are called in for retaliation, callers names are publicly given to others, promotions are given to those who are involved with upper management, work schedules are changed at any time without notifying employees

Pros

Full time schedules despite time of year or how many people are occupying the beds, the dietary skeleton crew is typically the well oiled machine without any squeaks causing a good work life balance, rotating menus don’t offer too many surprises, lower turnover within most departments. Awesome Xmas “bonus” disguised as a “safety rebate”. Positive comraderie among staff despite work positions, status, and differences. Small company with a local corporate office with corporate executives who reside within the same vicinities as the employees.

Cons

Particularity of the diets either prescribed or preferred within the “residents” can cause some unneeded stress, having to work all weekends and holidays can put a damper on personal life, when someone within the departments has an illness or a personal issue keeping them from work it causes extra workload on the usually harmonious skeleton dietary crew. Pay scale lower than similar positions elsewhere that have lower costs of living than California’s Central Coast.
