Pros

Schedule was easy to manage.

Cons

I'm a super high profile, award winning bartender, craft mixologist and bar manager with the best credentials and references anywhere in NH. I was embraced and encouraged my first 2 seasons as a bar operator at Delta Dental Stadium, home of the NH Fisher Cats. However, at the start of my 3rd season the operations manager's sentiment and behavior changed. I was moved to an ulterior, underperforming bar with a fraction of the revenue. Also, a useless, post retirement aged fella with no title (or “maintenance”?) in a kitchen uniform can't fix a wheel on a wheel cart for TWO ENTIRE SEASONS but management loves him so gets to go crying to operations manager when he wants to complain about someone. Also, this so called “organization” is STILL using outdated, junky carts, utensils, and materials. The suite are service vestibules are absolutely GROSS! NEVER, EVER CLEANED! Trash, food waste, popcorn all over the floor. Rotten trash barrels. This operations manager has NO CLUE as to how to inventory ANYTHING. No forecasting. Nothing. ALWAYS, ALWAYS running out of Tito’s, etc. Blames the bartenders for it! Instead of ordering more product to meet demand she hoards it in her office and rations it out. Also, never, ever a pay raise, let alone COL adjustment. Starting pay is STILL $10/hr just like it's been for TEN YEARS. NO homage or commitment whatsoever to rewarding repeat seasonal employees. Also, in both my seasons working here I did not see ONE minority employee. And I didn't see any this year, either. Not One person of color. Asian, African American, or other. This location is operated by a squawking "corporate" type with the "You should all be grateful to work here" attitude. Talks down to everyone, ESPECIALLY the temps they employ via a labor agency in town. The only positive thing about working here was my direct supervisor who was absolutely amazing in countless ways, cool under pressure, unlike HER boss, the Operations Manager lady. I literally walked out on her in defense of my dignity and my standards. In summary, if you're Caucasian, don't mind working for horrible wages and being talked down to like you're easily dispensable then Compass Group, (Levy Restaurants, Professional Sports Catering) is definitely the place for you! However, if you have pride, dignity and self worth, you should look elsewhere!

Pros

I worked at the John Wayne Airport American Airlines lounge, which served a strong and steady clientele, primarily composed of business travelers. Guests were generally easygoing and professional, with minimal special requests or complex requirements from their side

Cons

The operational and management side was significantly more challenging. The lounge was consistently understaffed, and managers and supervisors often had to step in and cover multiple missing roles just to keep things running. This created a high-pressure environment where tasks that should have been simple often became unnecessarily complicated. There were also strict safety procedures in place, which made sense given the airport setting, but the lack of consistent staffing and equipment issues made compliance difficult at times. In some cases, we were left relying on incomplete processes, such as temperature logs, due to broken equipment and workload pressure. Additionally, perishable goods such as dairy would sometimes sit for extended periods due to last-minute no-shows and staffing gaps, adding further stress to daily operations. Overall, while the clientele and safety structure were solid, the combination of understaffing, equipment issues, and management dynamics made it one of the most stressful and challenging work environments I have experienced.
