Pros

Working with the intellectually challenged people. Some can be so loving and they tend to become depended on you. I enjoy my co workers also many of them made it a nice to work here.

Cons

Not enough professional trainers. This is a family runned busy so not much room for growth. A lot of last minute changes, no time for planning ahead. If don't work off the cuff, this job isn't for you. They expect you to live and breathe CMS. No regard or empathy to one's personal time.

Pros

I love working with the clients and helping them maintain their place in society.

Cons

My only one challenge was working the overnight shift at the group home.

Pros

Director is outstanding. Her dedication is genuine; family business. Work provides satisfaction, can be hectic at times. Shift 8am-4pm cleans, prepares meals, shop for groceries; clients in programs. Shift 4pm-12am serves dinner, assist client with assignments, activity time, prepare for bed, monitors. Shift 12am-8am bathes, dresses, prepares breakfast, watch clients leave for school. Various ages, up to eight (8) clients in group home (varies).

Cons

Team work is essential in group homes to prevent escalating hostilities. Employees, some, with several years in can be difficult, they do not like to alter their personal routine of comfort. Management favors long term employees, to much trust in feedback from these employees concerning newly hired employees.
