I was fired from Community Chiropractic because I stayed home during the CA state-wide shut down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Community Chiropractic was not willing to let me work from home when my duties could have been performed at home easily. I had experienced symptoms and so did another person in my household and I was not willing to put other people's health at risk. I told my boss that I was concerned about getting other people sick and she told me that she had a business to run and that I would be replaced if I didn't come into the office. Community Chiropractic took no measures to protect their staff or patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Lund even sent out an email to all of her subscribers encouraging all patients to come into the office at this time for their adjustments to "boost their immune system". My previous employer and her husband were repeatedly disrespectful to me regarding this issue. I worked here for 2 years and 8 months. Starting pay was $12/hr - well under what it should be. After multiple employees left the company I had more duties and was bumped up to $15 but had to remind my employer of my raise as they did not pay me my new wages for weeks. I negotiated my wages after taking on more duties to $17/hour and again had to remind my employer of my raise as they did not pay me my new wages for weeks. No benefits at this job. Dr. Lund used information that I gave her as a patient against me as her employee.
