Pros

Mission-driven organization: The values of compassion and patient-centered care are often reflected in day-to-day operations. Good benefits: Health insurance, PTO, and retirement options are competitive compared to similar healthcare systems. Opportunities for internal transfers: Decent flexibility if you're looking to switch departments or explore non-bedside roles. Job security: As a large hospital network, there’s generally stability in employment.

Cons

Management varies greatly by location/unit: Some departments are well-run, while others suffer from toxic leadership, micromanagement, or favoritism. Understaffing issues: Like many hospital systems, short staffing is common and can lead to burnout and safety concerns. Bureaucratic structure: Slow-moving change, lots of red tape, and decisions that feel disconnected from frontline realities. Inconsistent enforcement of policies: Rules and standards may not be equally applied across departments. Limited recognition or upward mobility: Hard work isn’t always acknowledged, and promotions often depend on who you know rather than what you do.

Cons

Large corporation going through a lot of structural changes these past few years had made it difficult to keep things aligned as the company disassociated from advent health, while simultaneously merging centura health into commonspirit
