Pros

The director, clinical pastoral education supervisor, and all staff chaplains are invested in your success as a resident and readily provide advice and support. I couldn't have asked for a better learning environment when I was in my residency.

Cons

Low pay for a full-time role that requires an advanced degree, though I know the department director regularly advocates for the rate to increase. The hours (7:30 AM-4:00 PM) are less than ideal for someone who lives outside of Tacoma.
