Pros

- Clear mission to help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams - Some smart staff members that truly want to make a difference - Some departments really love it and have fun. Sounds too good to be true...

Cons

The agency grew too fast. Company wide lay-offs and people leaving have been a common recent memory. There is a gross lack of transparency and most are very on edge about the probability of being let go. It has gotten so grim and the difference between this year and last year is dramatic. Upper management constantly wasting money despite struggling to be profitable. This company has unfortunately made so many bad financial decisions that destroyed the organization. Lots of inexperienced staff members with big titles. Too much focus on creating a positive public perception of the agency instead of good client work. CEO constantly changes the company direction which causes major confusion and anxiety. I could go on much more but the disappointment is really hard to talk about.

We appreciate your feedback and especially candor on our transparency. 2019 was undoubtedly a learning year for CTC and with that comes change. Your experience through our change was turbulent at best, trust when I say that is far from what we strive for. We aim for transparency at company wide meetings and financial responsibilities should have been clearly connected to what that meant for our employees. Our hope — thanks to responses like yours — is to never mislead where we are and where we’re going again.

Pros

You will learn quick what to avoid in future companies and employees. Every role after will be a breath of fresh air.

Cons

CTC is a chaotic, ego-driven mess, churning and burning employees and clients. CEO Taylor Holiday is a wannabe Twitter influencer playing entrepreneur, surrounded by an inner-circle of unqualified buddies. Strategy changes constantly, positive reviews are fabricated, departments are dissolved on a whim, and layoffs are routine. CTC demands unrealistic output from overworked employees, all while preaching a fake culture of “transparency” and “work-life balance.” Transparency means hyped-up financial updates paired with weird parties and alcohol, followed immediately by entire department layoffs. Work-life balance means 60 hour work weeks with a level of micromanagement I haven’t seen before or since. Not convinced yet? Welcome to leadership meetings where no one has a plan and everyone is too afraid to say the truth. Staying close to the in-crowd matters more than results or performance because it might just keep you your job. I’ll never forget CTC’s empty promises about development and achieving dreams, all while exploiting, discarding, and abusing everyone in sight. If you value your career, mental health, or basic respect, stay far away.
