Pros

Helped my reaction time (always on edge)

Cons

No peace in your job. You never know when you will be berated. Very little coaching from very top management. Only insults and cornered arguments. He is the kind of man that will plan his attack on you, allowing you no time to prepare rebuttals. I think an un-thwarted verbal attack may be the only thing that excites him more than making money. If you have a strong interest in working for a guy that sues not for profit agencies, a man that seems to only hold onto employees that have no spouses or children, and a man that turns over and hires an approximate staff of 14 yearly, you should work at Commerce Group.

Pros

Thanks to Uncle Same, I was only at the company for 2 quick months. I learned so much about the industry in such little time. If you are a person who is either in love with real estate or has a strong desire to learn, this is the company. I worked along side the President everyday helping him scope out real estate opportunities and he really taught me a lot. There is hardly any micromanaging. I was used to a job where I would be micromanaged on everything so to not have to deal with that was the best feeling - you get treated like an adult.

Cons

The company uses wrike, which is a great way to communicate with other employees and track projects, but I feel it takes too much time putting in tasks and whatnot. As much as I loved not being micromanaged, there were times when guidance could be helpful but everyone can be so busy sometimes it would be hard to reach them when they were not on the phone.

Pros

I was with the company for about 5 months or so and everyone at the office was really friendly. They have different departments within the building but typically everyone was working towards a common goal, which was whatever the owner had set for them. I mainly work with leasing department and did a lot of cold calling (B2B) to see if the anyone would be interested in the spaces the owner had available. I also handled a variety of tasks depending on whatever they needed help with. My three biggest pros are: 1. They allow you the time to go take care of personal things/needs if things do come up and as long as it is within reason. 2. Unfortunately it did not work out for me there but they allowed me the time to look for other jobs while still receiving an income which was a blessing for me and I know not many (if any) companies do that. (This alone gave the review 3 stars) 3. You get to travel (Company paid) to multiple states to go and explore the market and search for new prospects while checking in on the existing properties we owner owns. This was a great experience.

Cons

I came from a job where I was working close to 60 hours a week with no help so my list of cons for this particular job might be a little on the short end of things. My three biggest cons are: 1. The Owner - Honestly he is a good guy and means well, but he is a lot to handle. If you cant handle the fast rebuttals or hold your own in a conversation with him then you WILL get eaten alive. And if he doesn't like you, you are out. To give you a general visualization, if you look on google images and search up Boss vs Leader, he is fits the Boss description to the T. 2. Day to Day - Once I had finished my task that I was assigned and the follows up, I would ask for more work but typically there was nothing else for me to do. So I would sit there and try to see if I can improve my past work which there really wasn't much to improve. 3. No opportunities for growth - My previous employer before CG had multiple opportunities for growth and professional development and even gave you a guideline on how to get there within 6 to 8 months. But with CG, I felt like once you are there you are stuck there in your current position until you prove you are useful (if you are even given the chance to prove that). I know I was working my tail off cause I enjoyed the work I was doing and the company was great, but I saw no route to get pass my current position which deterred me from truly exceeding.
