Pros

semi-secluded work space, nice view, great location...free bread & water

Cons

if you have no degree, you will be stuck doing the same job; if you have a degree you won't be paid what you're worth. workload is demanding & expectations are high. I saved the company thousands of dollars by finding bed bugs (the real reason for the fancy upgrade on every floor) and after 3 years of testing out new pilots for department efficiency, being given more of workload than co-workers, training new employees and often exceeding expectations I was unable to get a promotion or at least a get new job title of "team leader" in the same department. if you excel in a position that requires no degree there is little to no chance that they will "let" you leave that department...submitted verbal 2wks notice, received an email the next Monday to interview for a job in another dept. and was told by management I couldn't interview for the job, that I must submit my written 2wks notice...after a week, I walked off of the job in the middle of work b/c the bullying was unbearable...after little success in finding a job, I soon realized the company has blackballed me, I have been unable to use Compsych as a reference leaving a 3 yr gap in my employment history...currently working towards becoming my own boss by force! Best decision I've ever made. NO DEGREE REQUIRED! Good riddance!

Like most employer now PTO is limited to start, but is more generous later.

Pros

I have spent many years in many different organizations. I can honestly say that I feel more at home at Compsych than anywhere else in my career. The work brings me into contact with peers who are extremely helpful and kind. Upper levels of management are approachable and interested in suggestions and the success of the employees. I am very happy to be spending my years before retirement in such an environment.

Cons

Contact with the public, of course, has drawbacks. There can be people who are very, very difficult to deal with. I am trying to learn how to let it go and move on.
