Cons
There is a limit in being a technical consultant (developer) within the company. It is a very comfortable environment to work in, but sooner or later as a technical consultant you need to make a choice, either leave the company to improve your developer skills or transition to a business consultant (which the company is willing to retrain you). What I'm saying is there is limited career progression in being a technical consultant (developer) at the company.
