Best Up and Coming Small Business in the Industry - Solutions Engineer II Colossal Contracting Employee Review

Pros

Colossal has shown consistent growth each year in many areas: revenue, customers, projects, and sales. Colossal has a family-oriented culture that creates a positive work environment. Hard work is noticed, appreciated, and rewarded. Colossal invests in their employees in ways that not only benefit the company, but benefit the individual. Leadership always has your back. If leadership sees potential in you, they will capitalize on that potential to help you grow.

Cons

Working for Colossal is not a "9 to 5" job. There may be official office hours, but expect to work more than 40 hours a week to get the job done. If you are a hard worker or a workaholic (like most of us), the former statement may not be a "con" to you (it isn't for me). If you do not like traveling, then another "con" would be the travel requirements. Colossal has customers all over the United States. Both salespeople and engineers are often required to travel all over to meet customers and perform work on-premise. On the plus side, you get to see the country and meet interesting, new people on company dime!

Pros

Working at Colossal Contracting has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The company stands out for its commitment to excellence and its mission-driven culture as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business. Leadership genuinely cares about employees, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. The opportunities to work on cutting-edge IT solutions, including federal contracts and advanced technologies, are unparalleled. The company also invests in employee development through training, certifications, and career growth opportunities. The team is made up of talented professionals who are passionate about delivering results and supporting federal missions. The emphasis on work-life balance and open communication makes it a standout employer.

Cons

Like any growing company, things can move quickly, and priorities may shift. However, this is often accompanied by strong communication and a proactive approach to managing change.

Pros

guaranteed bi-weekly paycheck not much of anything else.

Cons

Changes employment contract guarantees on the fly. (holiday pay, PTO policy, etc) Raises are based off overtime hours worked. No option for advancement. HR and management don't care for complaints.
