Pros

-Free catered lunch once a week -They pay you to basically do nothing, since there is no work

Cons

Where do I begin? Upper management doesn't know what they're doing. Since I've worked there, they have changed the company name twice, changed focus three times and had rounds of layoffs only to inexplicably hire sales people. Things really started to go downhill after a new COO was appointed in early 2014. He clashed with a lot of people, made fun of the existing company culture, several employees and CEO, and changed the work from home policy. Suffice it to say, that guy was demoted to a lesser position. This company has lost it's prominent clients and wasted time and resources developing products that will never launch. There is basically no HR department, because HR is run by one person whose capability amounts to Googling what the company can and can't get away with. Seriously, what do you do if you have an issue with this person and need to report it to HR? Whoops, that person IS HR! Oh well, tough luck. RUN, don't walk away from this terrible, horrible, no good, very bad company.

Pros

This is a great place for anyone who wants a start in tech! From the first day, I felt like I was contributing, which is usually a rarity for an internship. Also, I got the opportunity to work on a lot of really cool projects and initiatives. It feels like there's always something exciting or new going on, so I rarely find myself bored or without work (another rarity for an internship). There is a lot of work to do, but I enjoy working with my team and the relaxed environment. I think the work environment is a good mix between stereotypical start-up and a more developed company. There's structure, but everything still feels fresh. I think the biggest pro is that, as an intern, I was allowed to experiment, try new things and work with a lot of autonomy. I gained a lot of skills here and a really good idea of what working in tech is like. If I had an idea for a project or something we could do, I was able to follow through with it.

Cons

- It's tough work because it's a new product within a competitive market, but that's part of the challenge. - The location is great for the most part, but I wish it was a tiny bit closer to the heart of downtown. However, the building is literally 20 steps away from the Expo Line so I can't really complain too much about location. - I really enjoy working in the relaxed office, but it's usually a bit too quiet. -Things change and move really fast, so sometimes it's hard to keep up.
