Pros

Supportive Peers Hybrid Work Environment Amazing 401K Strong Operational Safety Culture

Cons

Hierarchial obstacles obstruct everything from getting done Manager, Senior Managers, Directors, and in some cases VPs have restricted DOA or any authority to make high-level project and maintenance decisions down to hiring, budget, performance rating, merit, and organizational design decisions for their functional areas and critical projects and initiatives go to the [Executive] Management Team to "die" because they are too tactically involved in the business and proposals and projects fail because of analysis paralysis The archaic technology infrastructure is comical Morale is at an all-time low, but the People Department leader(s) have not done an engagement survey to gather feedback in 5 years The [Executive] Management team lacks any sense of cohesiveness, they don't trust each other or their management/leadership teams and there is no clear vision or company strategy Hiring and Promotion practices are not consistently applied across the organization which impacts our ability to maintain critical knowledge and build strong performing teams. People are stretched beyond their limits.

Pros

The company offers decent pay, good 401k matching, and a nice bonus structure, The corporate office is nice, and the vast majority of rank-and-file employees there are friendly folks who are passionate about the work they do. Day-to-day work is a steady pace while allowing breathing room to dash out of the office for a quick lunch or errand.

Cons

The acquisition by private equity has turned the company on its head. Management seems to constantly be threatening more cuts at all times- a mentality shared by the top that seems to trickle down to frontline managers. There is a squeeze for work, and people will pass the blame on any blunders, no matter how small, to save themselves. Additionally, any talk of strong job trajectory or upward growth has shown little proof; the only way to get properly moved around is to know the right folks higher up in the hierarchy. The best recommendation is to wait until the company is sold during the next acquisition and reevaluate from there.
