Pros

I worked in the eCommerce division, and managed a shared service team of devops, automation testing, and application security engineers. - Excellent work life balance - IT leadership is sensible and practical, and there's a clear long term vision that is sought after. - Company culture is very people focused, and given that the IT organization is very small considering how big CP is, it very much feels like an inclusive family of good folks - Policy and principles are well defined and serve to enable, empower, and drive self improvement of individuals, teams, and organizations

Cons

Glass ceiling on growth and not being valued The grade level system is single track for individuals, people managers, and executives. If you are a Senior Manager chances are you are at what they call a grade level 15 coming in and there's no path to a 16 ( first executive level). Ultimately this is the reason I left. After several years of being their and exponentially growing out my responsivities I still had no path to a promotion even 3-4 years out even though I was operating at a 16 level. This issue can also cause some discord and conflict among the 15s as they can even commit toxic and inappropriate behavior in an attempt to curry favor and embellish accomplishments to try for that 16 promotion. There were several instances of toxic behavior from peers I was forced to navigate and solve for unnecessarily due to this.

Cons

Very toxic work environment. Company promotes work life balance however meetings are scheduled during lunch and at 5:00pm. People are made to stand in daily plant meetings, no chairs in the rooms. Particularly hard on shop floor staff who work 12hr shifts. I NEVER had time to take a lunch hour the entire time I worked there. Phone calls at home daily/nightly(middle of the night) and almost every day every weekend as OTLs are poorly trained. Company promotes inclusion however Americans are bullied particularly by hispanics within the company. Company touts multiculturalism but does no training on dealing with other cultures. Entire plant Planning staff turned over in less than 2 years. Very stressful work environment cause by high-school like drama by LT. Managers are routinely put in PEP for issues months after they occur. No support whatsoever from Planning manager, HR or Leadership Team. Training is ALL online, when asked LT for help with SAP questions...response was to GOOGLE it. Direct manager was initially a STA with major inflated sense of self. Final manager was novice at managing people and very childish. Again, very toxic work environment overall.
