Pros

Coworkers and CBR National Marketing Team

Cons

As reflected in my review title, one word to summarize my experience is disappointing. Over the past several years working on the marketing team with Coldwell Banker Realty under Anywhere Real Estate, my experience was exciting, challenging at times, and ultimately very rewarding. I genuinely enjoyed my role and found it both professionally and personally fulfilling. The collaborative culture, strong leadership, and investment in employee growth created an environment where I was able to thrive and perform at a high level. However, following the recent acquisition by Compass Real Estate, the overall company culture has shifted significantly—and unfortunately, not for the better. The immediate transition to a five-day in-office requirement, along with changes to role expectations, expenses, and previously established perks and benefits, has created a more rigid and less supportive work environment. These changes have not only impacted morale but have also made it more difficult to perform effectively. It has been disheartening to experience such a shift, particularly when the marketing team itself remains composed of talented, dedicated professionals and continues to offer strong national resources and learning opportunities. This transition has ultimately taken away from what was once an empowering and motivating workplace. It is disappointing to see such positive aspects overshadowed by organizational changes that feel misaligned with supporting and valuing employees.

Although we are independent contractors, the broker continues to micromanage and it’s unbelievable how much money they take from our commissions.

Pros

I loved working with the agents. It was a good way to get into marketing especially if you have real estate experience.

Cons

There is no upwards mobility. This company invests heavily into diversity and if you are not part of a certain demographic, you will not get promoted. There were also frequent layoffs while I was there.
