Pros

You get to meet some really interesting people (for example I’ve met lawyers, private investigators and doctors), and getting to work at a private country club does come with added perks of free food and the ability to play the course when the club is closed for the day. Making new relationships with the caddies lends itself to creating a very tight knit family among all the golf workers. Working outside is also a bonus, especially when the weather is nice out.

Cons

The amount of physical labor demanded by not only the course officials, but the members as well tends to make shifts extremely difficult. Every member wants things the way they want, which makes it hard to cater to everyone at the same time. Not to mention, most of them are stuck-up and rude to us if nothing is exactly the way they want it. Working multiple hours carrying multiple heavy bags wears one out quickly. Not to mention, all of this is only done for minimum wage in New York ($15/hour). Also, Cold Spring is not a tipping club, which means I only make what is on the clock.
