Pros
Some of the people you end up working with sometimes are good and you can end up moving around to different crews depending on if they like you or not , it's a way to get experience for better companies unfortunately I realized after so long I wasn't what they wanted .
Cons
Lack of compencey training or evaluation Hidden racism and protected a superintendent who made remarks based on genders alot and didn't believe me when I tried to express how degrading it is and was dismissed by ' he was talking about your work " when his words were " men can do it better its just the way it is ", when he was rarely ever on site and made assumptions based on the lack of what he seen and other people who just caused problems constantly whom he was also too busy with usually in a company truck with said person who is also the field admin - please take the indigenous stickers off your helmet if you don't actually actively respect indigenous people signed a disrespected indigenous person and the amount of people they hire from other provinces is crazy to be based in Alberta and have 2% from here It sucks hearing your supervisors talk negatively about your homeland constantly putting down the land and it's people . if you write letters because they highly encourage you to " speak up" even have cards they hand out - they just find some excuse to back up their abusive superintendent and any other abuse they see fit to dish out by allowing people who operated dangerously ( I was hit in the back) to continue to work and also harass me while on light duties at the office and then tried to force me into a room with her after I expressed my deep concern for her behavior and lack of ability to work well with others .
