Pros
When working in manufacturing, vacation and work hours are very flexible. If you need to leave early for any reason they will rarely have a problem. Free snacks and drinks, very laid-back environment, and management are very receptive to mistakes and use them as a learning opportunity. There is a company paid lunch every Tuesday led by the CEO to discuss everything that is happening in the company with all employees.
Cons
I did not earn a living wage working the first summer, which made it hard to pay for tuition and rent when I went back to school. Work flow is pretty inconsistent, there are many days where there is nothing to do and management is too busy to find something for you to occupy your time. There are some instances where there are not enough trained people to teach you how to complete a task, but this just leads to down time and never reflects on your effectiveness as an employee.
