Pros

Known for Strong DW&BI Practice and BFS domain Lot of Onsite oppurtunities, especially in DW Most of the BFS clients are in Fortune 500 list Good Career Prospects ( Other than technical stuff, we would be exposed to Quality process ; Proposals ; Assessment ; PMR / Auditing ; Training Academy ; Lot of training materials) Location - Most of the Chennai facilities are within City limits (GMR,Perungudi,TCO,Porur DLF, Tambaram MEPZ) Flexible Work Timings ( 40 hrs a week ; Intime/Outtime not linked to Salary ) Easily Approachable Managers / Senior Managers ; No Micro-Managing

Cons

Appraisal - Lot of people quit because of very poor Appraisal system that you have. Promotions - Promotion chances are bright, if your reporting Manager have good rapport with Senior Management ; Exit Interviews - Exit interviews are happening just for formalities ; Irrespective of no of years that we serve, Exit Interviews happen just 5-10 minutes. Salary "Basic" Component - Basic Salary is very very less, when compared to other organizations. For CTC of 10 lakhs, basic would be just 2 lakhs ( 16k per month ).

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
